The Secret Life of Lady Evangeline

Everyone believes Lady Evangeline is dead, so let them, her survival depends on it.

After the death of her newborn daughter and betrayal of her husband, she barely escapes from the hunting lodge that assassins set ablaze to kill her. The nuns who found her, healed her body, but she’s still grieving her loss, Evangeline goes home to Brighton Castle to care for her ailing father in the guise of Sister Margaret Mary. An imposter, posing as her cousin, takes possession of the castle keeping her father prisoner. The imposter raised taxes too great for the people to pay, killing those who oppose him, leaving the widows and orphans to starve. Evangeline must don the disguise of the recently deceased bandit, the Fox, to steal from the rich to care for the needy. The robberies bother her conscience, but until she can rid the land of the imposter she must continue her ruse, no matter the risk.

Still grieving eighteen months after his beloved wife, Evangeline’s death, Lord Henry Stanton responds to an urgent request for help from his father-in-law. Henry travels with his infant daughter to Castle Brighton and is accosted by bandits and his child is kidnapped. Henry pursues the kidnapper and encounters Evangeline, who is alive and on the same quest to save the daughter she abandoned. Can they overcome the lies and secrets of the past and join forces to save their daughter before it is too late?

  Overall Blurb:
Nothing says I love you like a kiss
A Kiss. Nowhere does there exist a stronger expression of romance. If love is the universal language, then a kiss is the alphabet by which we communicate that most basic of all emotions. As unique as the individuals who engage in this delightful expression, a kiss can be tender or passionate, affectionate or amorous, but when shared by a couple there's no better way to say, "I love you."

Zoo Day Mystery
By Jan Warren

“Meet me today at the city zoo in front of the elephant statue. Ten sharp. Come alone. Don’t be late. Please. It’s a matter of life and death.”

What had she been thinking? She should have called the police and handed the note off to them. Amy Etheridge stood in the shadow of the huge bronze pachyderm as instructed. Something wasn’t right. In spite of the hot summer temperature, a chill of apprehension pebbled her skin. The zoo was suspiciously void of visitors. Maybe pursuing a mysterious plea for help hadn’t been such a good idea after all.

Factor X
By Jan Warren

Elaine Singleton awoke with her usual splitting headache. Since her car wreck, she’d been plagued with migraines that no prescription relieved. A squinting peek to check the time, she gasped. This was not her bedroom at home. Where was she? Fear amped the migraine to excruciating levels. The garish light of a neon sign blinked through the open blinds of the strange hotel room. Had she been kidnaped?

John Singleton arrived back at his hotel room and knew at once that the distressed woman in his bed was not the version of his wife that he’d left when he went to get their breakfast. How would he explain to this Elaine that five years had passed? Would she believe him when he told her Factor X, the experimental drug prescribed to deal with her chronic migraines, had an unexpected side effect?
